Carrot & Parsley Bones - Dog Biscuits

Carrots, parsley, cheese and olive oil make these crunchy treats an interesting change for your dog.





1/4 cup carrots, chopped very fine

3 cups minced parsley

1/4 cup shredded mozzarella or parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 & 1/2 cups whole wheat flour

2 tablespoons bran

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 to 1 cup of water


Preperation and Cooking

Mix the carrots, parsley, oil and cheese together in a bowl. Combine the wheat flour, bran and baking powder in a separate bowl, and then add to the vegetables.While mixing slowly add half a cup of water, the ingredients should come together to form a moist dough, add a little more water if needed. Knead the dough and turn out onto a well floured surface. Roll out to roughly 1/2 an inch thick, and cut into bone shapes. Put the shapes onto a well greased baking sheet and cook in the middle of a pre-heated oven at 350 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes, until the biscuits have become brown and slightly hard. Transfer onto wire racks for cooling, and store in an airtight container.
